This is so exciting!  You're having a baby and can't wait to soak up those tiny fingers and toes, that amazing smell and those sweet snuggles!

I so clearly remember the moment each of my sweet children were laid on my chest and I looked into their tiny face for the first time and thought I would explode with love, despite what they had just put me through.

I also remember well waking up from a stupor of sleep-deprivation, night feeds and dirty diapers when my baby was about 5 months old and thinking... how did she get SO BIG?!

But we don't want that to be your story! You want perfectly documented memories of all the tiny details, so that when you wake up from that sleepy stupor, you can look back and remember all the emotions and all the itty bittiness. As a mom of two trained in photojournalism, I help new parents preserve these early memories because I know how quickly they pass. And I come to your home to do it, so you don't have to rush to get everyone dressed up and out of the house while you're one week post-partum only to arrive and find baby has pooped through the onesie you picked.

Working Together

I do! Your photos are like personalized art. They aren't meant to be stored on a computer where no one looks at them, but to be displayed in your living room, made into an album for your coffee table, or put on a Christmas card to send to friends and family. Because I know how busy life gets, you can either order these through me as add-ons to your package, or you can do it online, straight from your gallery with the click of a button.

Do you offer any prints, canvases, albums or cards?

I absolutely do! In fact, more than just help, I have a full blog post on what YOU can do to make sure your photos turn out wonderfully (and you can read it here.) I also provide information on how to style the whole family, as well as help with outfit selection should that be helpful to you!

Do you offer help with styling for my session?

Yes I do! Traditional payments are 50% due at the time of booking (within a week) and 50% due 24 hours before your maternity or newborn session.  But, if it's easier for you, I can split payments in three or four equal parts. Just let me know what you prefer, and we can make it work!

Do you offer a payment plan?

Babies are unpredictable, and I plan for that. My newborn sessions are two hours long, not because it takes that long to capture all the photos you'll want, but because I plan for you to take time to feed, change and comfort baby. If baby is fussy, I'm happy to take a break while you nurse or comfort him or her, and we'll start again once baby is settled and you're feeling comfortable!

What if my baby is fussy during our newborn session?

What's the next step?

The next step is to get in touch and let me know your due date! We can definitely pick a date for maternity session, which I usually recommend take place between 32 and 37 weeks pregnant. Babies are unpredictable, though. For a newborn session, I generally put your due date in my calendar and only take a handful of session around that time. Once baby arrives, you just share the good news with me and we can figure out a date for our newborn session!

When's the best time to have my session?

Where should my Newborn Session take place?

For any outdoor session including maternity, I always recommend early in the morning or later in the evening, right before the sun goes down. This soft lighting looks amazing in photos! But I completely understand that everyone has different schedules and sometimes that just doesn't work. We can definitely work around your schedule and create some beautiful memories no matter what time of day it is! For newborn sessions, I recommend choosing a time when your home is brightest.

I always recommend newborn sessions be done at home for many reasons. One, you never know how birth will go and how your body will feel, and adjusting to getting out of the house with a newborn is hard. So, to make it all easier, I like to come to you, where you're comfortable. Also, your home is warm and where you and baby feel most comfortable. However, with COVID-19 regulations, if you're feeling up to it, we can definitely do an outdoor newborn session with social distancing in mind!
